Nate grew up in a Christian family, attended church regularly, and was assumed to be saved as a kid. However, one night at AWANA during the sixth grade, the Holy Spirit convicted him of his need for a personal relationship with Christ. He surrendered to God and made a profession of faith that night. The Holy Spirit’s work in his life continues to astound him, whether it be through influential words of encouragement, sermons, the call to dive into God’s Word or prayer. The Holy Spirit has and continues to have a monopoly on his life.

The Lord has given Nate desires, capabilities, and opportunities to reach out with the Gospel to anyone whom God brings into his path. He desires to help carry a missionary or pastor’s load as the Lord prepares and equips him for ministry. Nate’s first job was lawn mowing with a grandfather-like figure who poured into his life while simultaneously teaching Nate how to mow lawns. Nate desires to pattern this type of ministry. He wants to learn and then teach, train, and do hands-on activities with the people the Lord entrusts to him. He wants to work with kids and young adults either in a work environment, sports environment, or small group environment of any type where he can push others to know Christ better.

Born and bred in Singapore, Melody had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home and was introduced to Jesus at a young age. God’s relentless grace has pursued her from birth, opening her eyes to see as a child that the only life worth living is one that is lived for eternity. He provided for her to attend Bible college in the States where she met her husband, Nate. In addition to worshipping the Lord on the guitar, Melody enjoys diving into a good book or letting time stand still to savor a breathtaking sunset.

How a farm boy from Idaho would meet a city girl from Singapore only the Lord knows. Nate and Melody met at a Bible college in Wisconsin (Northland International University) in the fall of 2014. Two years later, they married with a desire that their union would display the glory of God. Committed to live on mission, this couple has a desire to share and show Jesus through discipleship and evangelism. They take great pleasure in meeting needs and giving of themselves. For now, the Lord has called them to Gospel ministry in southeast Asia where they will continue to follow Him wherever He leads at whatever the cost.
